James Albert (Jimmie) Barron 45, of Coosa Route 1, was killed instantly at 5:15pm Wednesday when the truck he was driving was struck by a Central of Georgia freight train at Bone Station near Coosa. --- Mr Barron was born in Tyler Texas, Sept 16 1901, but had lived in Rome since that time except for five years spent in St Petersburg Fla. He returned to Rome three months ago and at the time of his death was engaged in farming. ---- Survivors include the widow, the former Clara Englebert Ray; one son, T/Sgt Emory Barron, Ft Knox, KY; one step daughter, Miss Margene Ray of Rome; his mother, Mrs EO Barron of Rome; two brothers, Hugh Don Barron San Francisco, Calif; Joe Barron, Rome; six sisters Mrs WF Nichols, San Francisco, Calif; Mrs Ray Nodine, Landrum SC; Mrs EO Glover, Mrs Madge Tucker, Mrs Elizabeth Dupress and Miss Vivian Barron, all of Rome. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. ---Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Jennings Funeral Home.
