Roberta L. Genovese was born on November 22, 1948, in Philadelphia, daughter of Anthony W. Genovese and Alberta Kleinschmidt. She graduated from Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School in 1966, and received her bachelor's from Chestnut Hill College in 1970. She got her master's in microbiology from Temple University in 1983. Before she died, she was a supervisor of Microbiology for Alleghany University Hospital. She was survived by her father, Anthony Genovese and a sister, Barbara Ann Miller.
