The siblings lived on the farm of their parents. Presumably this was either property that their father, George, took over from his father, John. The Teners owned several blocks of property in the Baltimore area.

A more through search of archival records might show more. Going back one must remember that large original "counties" were broken up as the population increased.

Joseph never married and lived with his unmarried sisters Catherine and Mary Ann in the family home until his death.

In any case, this branch of the Teners were in the area before the American Revolution and also during the War of 1812. But by the time of the Civil War, the majority of Teners had left Maryland.

Gravesite Details

Actually buried in the Tener/Hooper family cemetery near Taylorsville. Cemetery no longer exists. Private property owners cleared the plot & removed the stones in the late 1980s. Stones were not replaced & might have been moved to another site.
