Mrs. Bertha Cornell 76 died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the home of a daughter Mrs. Oakel Bayless on Waynetown Road a mile west of Alamo. She ahd been ill a year and had been living with her daughter for six months. Born at Elmdale, she was married in 1894 to Thomas Cornell. He died in 1941. She had lived at Stockwell until moving to her daughters home.
Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Bayless, Mrs. Lela Smith Crawfordsville, Mrs. Glen Skinner Lafayette, Mrs. Marjorie Martin and three sons Charles Cornell, Harold Cornell and Leo Cornell all of Tippecanoe County. (Lafayette Journal and Courier)
