Isaac Ransom Scott, well known citizen and pioneer resident of the Town of Edson, died at home last Friday April 13, at the ripe age of 87 years, after a brief illness.

Mr. Scott was born at Swanton, Franklin County, Vermont, November 1, 1836 and resided there until he was 20 years of age. He then came West to Mastan, Illinois, where he lived till the beginning of the Civil War. He enlisted in the Union Army and served three and one-half years till the close of the war and received an honorable discharge on January 20, 1865, at Springfield, Illinois. He then came to Wisconsin and located in the Town of Edson. On March 22, 1868, he was united in marriage to Katherine Mohr. To this marriage nine children were born, six of whom survive. Charles Scott, Deer River Minn.; Dan, Fred, Walter, and Mrs Hugh Hayes of Stanley and Mrs. Irve (Bertha) Huff of Chippewa Falls.
