While stationed at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, Lt Waston was killed when his plane, and the plane of LCDR Alfred Jack Sewell collided in mid-air during a training exercise. He was buried 7 Oct 1943 with full military honors. LCDR. Sewell was buried in Plot No. 136.
