Rites In Magee For Mrs. Thames

Funeral services were hold at 10 a.m., Tuesday from the Mims Mitchell Funeral Home chapel for Mrs. Annie Ware Thames of Jackson, who passed away Saturday night at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Mrs. Thames was 88 years of age and made her home in Magee before moving to Jackson where she resided at 532 Claiborne Street. Revs. Leonard Holloway and E. F. Hicks were the officiating ministers, and nephews of the deceased served as pall bearers.

Survivors include four sons, Dewey Thames and Robert Thames, both of Jackson; Homer Thames, West Point; Lt. Col. John W. Thames, with the Air Force in France, who returned for the funeral; three daughters, Mrs. Viva Downing, Mrs. Ted Dendley of Jackson and Mrs. Gladys Brown of Lakeland, Florida.

She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother,. Charlie N. Ware of Arlington, Texas and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Fleming of Clara, Miss.
