Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Mae Cantrell, 72, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Miller Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Cantrell, a housewife, died Monday, October 9, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born April 7, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late James and Elva (Abbott) Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard H. Cantrell; two brothers, Edmond Brown and Edward Brown; and a sister, Ethel Hammons.

She was a member of Allons Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, James Brown Jr., Celina, and Varnie Brown, Livingston; two sisters, Kay Smith and Carol Hammock, both of Livingston; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Lillian Sherrill. Pallbearers were Ted Burch-ett, Darrell Beason, Rick Danner, Earl Harris, Ray Hammock, and Randall Hall.
