Mary [Tilghman] Warren was born circa 1751 in Eastern Shore, MD. It is presumed she was born in Somerset County since her parents were living there. She was the daughter of Joseph Tilghman and Nancy Harris. Nancy Harris was of Worcester Co., MD.

Joseph Tilghman's will was written 29 Jul 1763 and probated 27 Apr 1767 in Somerset Co., MD. His wife is not mentioned in the will - only their children; thus, she evidently died before July 1763.

Joseph Tilghman's will bequeathed daughter, Mary Tilghman, a negro girl named Isabellow [sic].

I have no proof Mary Warren is buried in this cemetery. She may have died in Pickaway Co., OH where her son, Tilghman Warren, lived and died. According to Mary's husband, Solomon Warren's 1820 will, their son, Tilghman, was appointed guardian for Mary and her son, Milton.

Mary Warren is last found on 1820 Pike Co., OH census. Some researchers state she died in 1825 but cannot provide proof.

Mary and her husband were my 4th gr-grandparents.
