Minnie Mabel Mitchel, colored, daughter of Jake Mitchel and wife, born in this city May 10, 1884, died at the city hospital in Indianapolis June 11, 1911, of spinal meningitis and hemorrhage of the brain. Her mother gave her to Christ when she was but 7 weeks old. She is survived by her mother and father, three sisters and one brother, and also a host of friends who mourn her death. Her last words were "my poor mother." The remains were brought to this city Monday evening. Funeral services were held at the residence of her parents at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and the remains were interred in the city cemetery.
