Memorial services for Rev. William "Bill" Wesley Hemmans, 69, will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in Manigault-Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, 2229 Two Notch Road.
He was born in Waycross, Georgia, son of the late William and Frances Gordon Hemmans Sr., and passed on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Mr. Hemmans received his B.A. degree from Florida A&M University, and was a United States Navy veteran. "Bill" enjoyed a career as a saxophonist, and his records sold millions across the nation. He played with the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, the Bobby "Blue" Bland Band, and was featured with B.B. King, Muddy Waters and many others, including The Dramatics Show Band. After a long run of playing the "Blues", the Lord called him to preach and play for Him.

He is survived by his wife, Donna McFadden Hemmans; sons, William Hemmans III, David, Wesley, Maurice and Samuel Hemmans and Muzzy Jackson; daughters, Aldonia (Bruce) Moss, Frances, Selby and Bethany Hemmans; step-children Danielle (Jay) Bates and Tyeshia Corley; brothers, J. Maxie (Ede) Hemmans and Benjamin H. Hemmans; sisters, Frances (Charles) Fields and Alice (Charles) Turner; ten grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
