HELEN J. BEST
Helen J. Best, 69, of Licking Township, Emlenton RD 3, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Clarion Hospital following an extended illness.
Born Oct. 18, 1930, in Bruin, she was a daughter of Ralph D. and Helen LOGUE WAGNER.
She was a graduate of the former Parker High School.
Mrs. Best had worked 25 years at the former Glass Containers Corp. of
Parker until 1973.
She was married Nov. 21, 1954, to Robert E. Best, who survives.
Mrs. Best and her husband owned and operated the Happy Hour Bar and
Restaurant on the hill in Parker for several years.
She then studied pet grooming and operated her own pet grooming parlor in Parker for a period of time.
Mrs. Best was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Post 636 in Foxburg, where she served as president for several terms. She was active in veterans affairs and local politics for several years.
Mrs. Best was a Protestant.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are several cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Petersburg Cemetery.
