Mrs. Abrams, 94, died June 11, 2003, in Alabama. She was born in Fordyce, Ark., to George and Anna Kauffman.
She was retired from WJMB, where she was station manager for many years. She attended Fordyce High School, where Paul "Bear" Bryant was her classmate, and she watched him play his first football game. She attended business school in Little Rock, Ark. She worked in Hazlehurst and McComb before coming to Brookhaven as station manager. She was a volunteer for Temple B'Nai Sholom sisterhood and King's Daughters Medical Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 61 years, Clifford Abrams; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Puddin Abrams of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Douglass Talley of Marietta, Ga.; her sisters-in-law, Florine Abrams of Brookhaven, and Vera Abrams Davis of Jackson; her grandchildren and their spouses, Joshua and Karen Abrams of Asheville, N.C., Stephan Abrams of Jackson, Wyo., Abby and David Rosen, Tracy Minkoff of Atlanta, Ga., and Amanda Abrams of New York; and many other relatives and life-long friends.
