Buster was born January 28, 1917, in White County to Ray Horton and Stella Horton.
He was a retired engineer with L and N Railroad.
Horton served the U.S. during World War II.
Horton was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Zelma Teeples Horton; one of his sisters, Dorothy McClure; and his two brothers, Otto L. Horton and James Robert Horton.
His Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Horton Boatman and her husband Howard; one son, Wilmer L. Horton; his two grandchildren, Patricia Renae Carter, Todd Beatman and wife Mary; one great grandchild; three sisters, Nan Million, Doris Collins and husband Kenneth, Betty Shockley and husband H.E.; special friend, Christy Garrett; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted on August 3, 2004, graveside at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Bro. John Murphy will officiate.
Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
