William "Bill" McCain, 79 years old, Route 4, Jackson, died at St. Francis Medical Center Saturday, May 9, 1987.

He was born April 22, 1908, at Neelys Landing, son of Pearl McCain and Maggie Foster McCain.

He married Viola Cotner March 23, 1929 at Jackson. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Chester McCain, Jackson and Larry McCain, Route 4 Jackson; two brothers, Melvin McCain of Fairview, Iowa and Howard McCain of Route 1 Jackson; four sisters, Irene Wiggins of Jackson, Esther Ackman of Perryville, Virginia Bates of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Patsy Kemp, of St. Louis; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Two sons, Billy Gene McCain and LeRoy McCain,, preceded him in death.

He was a school bus driver for 22 years, retiring in 1973. He was also a farmer and worked at West Lake Quarry, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of New Bethel Church near Pocahontas.

Service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at New Bethel Church with Rev. Johnny Clements, officating, assisted by Reb. Thomas Grey. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
