Mary Catherine was the oldest daughter of Adolphus Watkins and Mattie Jefferson Watkins. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Jarratt, VA. She was a woman with quiet spirit and her everyday walk implied Christ.
She was educated in the Sussex County Public School System, attending elementary school at the Jefferson School which was founded by her grandmother, Martha Reese Jefferson. She married Elijah Hall on 18 February 1921 in Jarratt (Sussex County), VA. To this union 14 children were born. She was a devoted wife to Elijah Hall who was blind for 63 years.
A funeral service was held at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Jarratt, VA on Saturday, August 5, 1995.
