Georgie moved to Oklahoma with relatives, she remained in Lima until death. Georgie and her husband Ford Blanton,(who preceded her in death), were never able to have biological children, but found paternal pleasure in raising Nathaniel Quinn Sr. as their own. Nathaniel and wife Ruth would present her with three Grandchildren. Georgie was in big favor of Education and at times walked to work in another town, to enable her son to be a college graduate, and teach school for many years.
Later in life Georgie became completely blind, but used what she had to make her life eventful. Like her sister Hattie, who lived next door, she loved her Savior.
Georgie was always teaching her neices, Patricia, Brenda, and Sharon how to cook delicious foods. One favorite that remains, is the Jeff Davis Pie. When her sister Hattie lovingly took in her neices children, Georgie also became important in their lives. Brenda and Sharon would sleep in Georgie's home, making sure she never had to be alone and needing something. Much later in life, Georgie's physical health problems required around the clock nurses, and was placed in a Nursing Home Facility in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Even during the times when her mind was not as sharp, Nurses would tell of her calling out for Hattie (her next door sister that she called "Humbre", nieces Brenda, and Sharon. Although she raised one child, she catered to her neices and nephews, even buying a piano for one neice. As, with her sister Hattie, she enjoyed having her siblings: Rev. Blanton Hill, and James Eugene Hill's visit on that cheerful porch. At times their laughter could be heard a block away. She lost many siblings in Texas. In Lima Oklahoma, another sister, Rosietta lived a short distance away. A brother Burl Sr., passed away in Oklahoma. Her sister Beatrice Northernweather lived in California, authored a book, and became a movie star. Her death, her teaching, her laughter, her strictness is missed, but with the love of God who gives peace and understanding, we knew God does what is best. She would express her blessings of several Limans who would drive her to church on Sundays, Namely, Bro. Eldridge and Sis. Cozetta Gordon, however there were others.
