U.S. Congressman. He taught at a district school in Crawford County, Iowa, (1902-05), graduated from the pharmacy department of Fremont Normal School Nebraska in 1906 and graduated from the medical department of Northwestern University Illinois, in 1910. Moving to Portage, Wisconsin, in 1912, he commenced the practice of medicine and was chief of staff of the Portage City St. Savior’s Hospital, (1926-27). He also was a delegate to Democratic State conventions, (1920-33) and a member of the Portage City Park Commission, (1925-33). In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third Congress, serving until 1935. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of medicine and surgery, until his death.
