He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Georgia Pacific with 30 years of service. He also worked at Walmart in Chiefland in the gardening center for nine years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Gulf Hammock Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Minnie Gore; sons, David Connie Gore Jr. (Karen), Greg Gore, Don Junior McElveen (Tamara Crews), James McElveen; brothers Junior Gore, Jerry Gore; sister Eunice Watson; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 28, at Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 1 at Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland with the Rev. Bobby Lindsey officiating. Interment followed at Sand Pond Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
