Rubin Clem Turner, son of Martha (Smith) & Marion Cain Turner, was born December 23, 1890, near Fair Play, Missouri & passed away February 25, 1964. His age at the time of his death was 73 yrs, 2 months, & 2 days. Clem, as he was called by everyone, was sick only a very short time. On November 21, 1914, he was united in marriage to Sally thornton. To this union seven children were born-four sons & three daughters. They are, Elton of Stockton, Roy of Kansas City, Kansas, Joe of Kansas City,Missouri & Carl of Indianola, Iowa; Gladys King, Mary Neely, & Opal Long of Stockton, three sons-in-law, Dewey King, Orville Neely, Clifford Long; four daughters-in-law, Lucille, Bernice, Georgia, & June Turner.His campanion passed away February 20, 1962. Also preceding him in death were his mother & father, four brothers, Jimmie, Jesse, Elmer, & Druary Edward & two sisters, Della Curl & Ida Mae Turner. He leaves to mourn his passing the seven children, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Cleo Hayward; two brothers, Charley & Elbbert, all of Stockton, & a host o nieces & nephews. He was always a loving father, grandfather, & great grandfather. He was a good neighbor, always ready to help someone in need. he loved to fish with so many of his neighbors. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially the family. Dearest Father is now sleeping, That sweet sleep that comes to all. Oh what comfort it is for us,He was ready for that call. How we'll miss him, Yes, so lonely, and our hearts are torn with pain, May the God of heaven guide us, Till we meet him once again. Last rites were conducted by the Rev W. R. Turner in the Assembly of God Church on Friday afternoon, August 28. Interment in Stockton city cemetery under direction of Cantlon funeral home. Pallearers were: Hubert Thornton, Herman Thornton, Glenn Thornton, Billy Thornton, Jay thornton, Marvin Turner.
