Civil War Union Soldier. Zenal Chauncey Lamb was the son of Dr. Elijah Chauncey Lamb and Betsey Locke Sawyer. He served during the Civil War as a a Private in Company C, 16th Vermont Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded on July 3rd, 1863 during his regiment's participation of the repulse of Pickett's Charge and died the next day. He was married to Sarah Johnson, the daughter of Luther Johnson and Abigail Pierce. He left 3 children to her care, the youngest, Elmer Zenal, was only 6 months old at the time of his father's death.
