L.W. Hesalroad Burial Today

Lewis Wellington Hesalroad was born on the Hesalroad farm, which is now Stauffer farm, west of Greene, Iowa, on August 30, 1874 and died at his home in Greene, Monday, August 5, 1929 at the age of 54 years, 11 months and 6 days.

Mr. Hesalroad was a man of sterling character, honest and upright in his dealings with his fellow-men and a congenial neighbor and friend. He spent the greater part of his life on the farm. Five years ago last January he bought out the Farmers Equity Implement business and has been actively engaged in the handling of implements until three months ago when ill health forced him to retire to his home.

February 2, 1895, he was united in marriage with Miss Lizzie Pringle. Six children were born to bless this union, Wm. James, an infant son, died 19 years ago. Mr. Hesalroad is a member of Halls Grove Church, the I.O.O.F and Rebekah Lodges.

Besides his devoted wife he leave to mourn his death, his children, Adah Gates, Amy Shook, Ocea Kingery, Paul, Leah and Dean Crosby, who came into the home when he was 10 weeks old and has been a member of the family ever since. Six grandchildren, Ethel, Darrel Lewis and Keith Kingery, Claire Gates Neil and Donna Gail Shook. Two brothers, W. W. and John Hesalroad and two sisters, Mrs. G.W. Stauffer and Mrs. R. M. Skillen.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Christian church, Rev. A.C. Stowe of Mason City, officiating. Interment is in Rosehill cemetery.
