Rites Held for Mary Ellen McCracken, 83, passed away last Wednesday afternoon at the Clark Nursing Home in Greene where she had been a patient for one year.

She was born August 13, 1881, to James and Nancy, nee Williams, Pringle, in rural Butler County. On April 27, 1904, she was married to Clarence McCracken. The couple farmed in the Greene community for forty years and retired to Greene twenty five years ago.

She was a longtime member of the Christian Church of Greene. Also she had been a member of Rebekah lodge for 53 years and held the degree of chivalry.

Survivors include her husband Clarence; one brother Elmer Pringle of Shell Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

She was proceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lizzie Hesalroad and Elsie, who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Church of Christ in Greene with Rev. G.F. Butler, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery. Reid's Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
