FOSTER Mrs. Mary Isabel Foster, age 98 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Adams Street Place. Mary was born November 22, 1908, in Mansfield, Mo., the daughter of Barnes DeKalb and Laura Mae Viet Brazeal, both deceased. She was married on April 14, 1927, in Springfield, Mo., to Turner Foster, who preceded her in death on January 16, 1990. She attended school in Mansfield, Mo. After her marriage, she moved to the Foster family farm near Ashland, Mo., where she lived for over 17 years before moving to Jefferson City in 1945. She had been employed as a nurses aide at St. Mary's Health Center for 13 years prior to her retirement in 1972. She loved to sew, quilt, and crochet. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City for over 50 years. Survivors include: three sons, David Foster and his wife Eleanor of New Bloomfield, Mo., Wayne Foster and his wife Marcella of Jefferson City, Mo., and Bill Foster and his wife Virginia of Anaheim, California; two daughters, Zelda Hewitt and her husband Clifford of Kalispell, Montana and Carol Koestner and her husband Ron of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Lillie Nelson of Weiser, Idaho and Aileen Abbott of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 35 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Jack Foster, Jerry Foster, and Dudley Foster; one daughter, Faye Brauner; one granddaughter, Angela Koester; one infant grandson; five sisters; and four brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2007, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2007. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
