Dean Earl Troge/Meister, age 82, of Le Center, formerly of Mankato, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Central Health Care Center in Le Center. Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 18, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be at the church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Military Honors Provided by the Le Center Area Veteran's Honor Guard. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Arrangements are with Le Center Funeral Home.

Dean was born in Osage, Iowa on June 3, 1929, to Ernest and Lilla (Troge) Meister. He graduated from Adams High School in 1948, and joined the United States Air Force, serving from November 27, 1951 to October 21, 1955. Dean was united in marriage to Margia Mae Mielke in Rochester, MN on December 19, 1957. They made their home in Mankato, MN and Dean worked in building maintenance for the Department of Transportation for over 20 years.

He enjoyed gardening, attending church, working out, going for walks, Yankees Baseball, and helping others. Dean was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center, the Mankato VFW, and AA.

Dean is survived by his children, Jeff & Antonina Meister of Lorton, VA, Nancy & Dean Christiansen of Jordan, and Renee Meister of Mankato; three grandchildren, Brian Meister, Cody Meister, and Mia Christiansen; sister, Daisy & Curtis Lawson of Austin, MN; and four brothers, Melvin Meister of Bella Vista, AK, Luther & Ruby Meister of Austin, MN, Roy & Gladys Meister of Minneapolis, and Vern Meister of Rochester.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margia; parents, Ernest and Lilla; brothers, Loren, Erwin, Edwin, and Jerry; and sisters, Ruth, Mae and Lois.
