Son of the W. L. and Rosa Bell Holland Bailey. He was a 1956 graduate of the William H. Spencer High School, attended Savannah State College, and graduated from Edwards Waters College. He earned his Masters Degree from Atlanta University. He married and was the father of two children. Bailey retired as a school teacher from Murphy-Crim High School in Atlanta, GA . He also retired from the Roanoke, AL school system. Mr. Bailey was a member of the St. Paul AME Church in Columbus and was a dedicated musician for several churches in the Atlanta, GA area. He also was a U. S. Army veteran. Bailey died at Columbus Hospice House after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Military honors were accorded at funeral.
