Mr. Ackerson was born March 11, 1949, to Gene and Carol (Arrington) Ackerson in Bellingham. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, camping and carpentry work. He also loved his dog, Angel.
Survivors include son Joe Ackerson of Bellingham; his mother, of VanZandt; brothers Gary Ackerson of Ferndale, Greg Ackerson of Custer and Mike Ackerson of VanZandt; twin sister Kathleen Taylor of Marysville; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home of Ferndale.
