Sarah was born in Concord on October 8, 1659. She was the daughter of Thomas Dakin and his wife, Sarah Slater. Sarah's mother died when Sarah was only ten days old. Thomas remarried before Sarah was a year old, and Sarah grerw up with several half-siblings. Sarah married Abraham Wood, the son of Michael and Mary Wood, about 1682, location unknown, but there is no reason to believe that the marriage did not take place in Concord. Sarah and Abraham were the parents of at least six children, probably all born in Concord, although, for some reason, there is no record there of their births either. Abraham was a prominent citizen of Concord, and spent his active life there. He was Town Clerk from 1701 to 1703, and Selectman from 1701 to 1704.

After their son Abraham moved his family to Sudbury, it is likely that Abraham and Sarah moved there too, to live near their son and his family. Both Abraham and Sarah's deaths are recorded in Sudbury, Abraham on November 24, 1747, and Sarah on February 24, 1748.

Although there is no record of her burial, and apparently no headstone exists, there is no doubt Sarah is buried in this cemetery.
