Died Friday, Feb. 22, 1985, at 6:45 p.m. at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. He was 78, a native of Baton Rouge and a longtime resident of Denham Springs. He was a retired dentist, having practiced for 51 years. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday. Religious services at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Survived by wife, Ruby Pennington Morgan, Denham Springs; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Margie Brown Taylor, Tulace, Calif.; two sons, Robert W. Morgan, Baton Rouge, and Joor Pennington Morgan, Denham Springs; a stepson, William E. Brown, Denham Springs; a sister, Mrs. Eleanor M. Michell; nine grandchildren, Robert Jefferies Morgan, Baton Rouge, Amanda Star Morgan, Baton Rouge, Christie Lynn Morgan, Emma Haley Morgan, and William Donald Brown, all of Denham Springs, Cathy B. Stevens, Springfield, Christa T. Walker, San Mateo, Calif., Erica T. Miller, Eugene, Ore., and Pamela T. Lagieki, Eureka, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Maggie Morgan; a sister, Anna Mae Morgan; a brother, George Morgan. Pallbearers will be Thomas Mitchell, Wesley Sorenson, Ray Yont, David Starkey, Clyde Stevens, and Wesley Pennington. He was a member and chairman of the board at First United Methodist Church. He was past president and life member of Denham Springs Kiwanis Club, a member of Board of Directors of Livingston Bank and Livingston Parish Homestead Association. He was the first fire chief in Denham Springs and participated in numerous civic organizations. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
