NATCHEZ — Services for Carson Edward Smith, 69, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cullum and Matt Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Wilkinson County, the son of James Theodore Smith and Sylvia Bazzon Johnson Smith. He was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne Smith and Kenny Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Smith; one son, Brent Smith and wife, Rosalie, of Vidalia; one daughter, Tanya Richardson and husband, Brand, of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Madeline Smith, Jones Richardson and Julia Carson Richardson; and three brothers, James W. Smith and wife, Marie, and Mike Smith and wife, Catherine, all of Natchez, and Gene Smith and wife, Susie, of Amite, La.

Pallbearers will be Richard Criswell, Tommy Milligan, Keith Dallalio, Brandon Ross, Garrett Jones and Matt Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Lee, Jack Swain, Loren Nelson, Tony Smith, A.K. Moore, Mike Priest, Dennis Jones, Brand Richardson, Richard Cullum, Gary Jones, Gene Allen Smith, Doonie White, Brandon Smith, Tye Smith and Doug McIlwain.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jack Rodriguez and staff, Dr. Barry Tillman, Dr. Randy Tillman, Dr. Geoffrey Flattmann, Louisiana Home Care and the nurses at Natchez Regional Medical Center.
