Lowry, age 83, passed away September 19, 1991 at her home in Nephi, Utah.
Born September 9, 1908 in Fillmore, Utah to John E. and Amy Lavor Scottorn. Married Lynden LeRoy Carter in 1929; later divorced. Married John Chesley Lowry February 9, 1956; he died December 2, 1962. She lived in Nephi for 52 years where she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She worked the Shak Shak Cafe and Ray's Cafe for many years before going into business at the Tiara Cafe for 27 years. She was a very loving person and treated everyone with concern and respect.
Survived by three sons and two daughters, Jack L. and Jim L. Carter, both of Nephi; Tim Carter, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Doyle (Ann) Coombs, Nephi; Mrs. Don (Patsy) Iverson, Fillmore; one stepson, Evan K. Lowry, Monticello; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four step grandchildren. Preceded in death by one sister and three brothers, Ruth, Frank, Jack and Fred Scottorn.
She will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, September 23, 1991, in the Nephi LDS 7th Ward, 222 South 100 East. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, and at the church Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services 3 p.m. at the Fillmore City Cemetery.
