Obituary -- Minnie Lemons, beloved wife of Arthur Hensley departed this life Tuesday, November 20th 1894 after a protracted illness. The deceased was born in North Carolina September 5, 1868. Her parents came to Marion County, Iowa when she was only 5 weeks old. A few weeks later, when she was 2 months old, her mother died, and she was then adopted by Mr and Mrs. John McCullough, who came with her to Decatur County, Iowa when she was about 2 years of age. July 31, 1884, then being in her 16th year, she was united in marriage with Mr. Arthur Hensley, to whom she born 5 children, all of whom, with her husband, survive her. Funeral services were conducted at her late residence on the morning of Thursday, November 22 by Robert Beer, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Garden Grove, Iowa after which her remains were borne to the Winters Cemetery for burial, followed by a large concourse of neighbors and friends.
