HENDERSON, Katherine, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother parted from this life into life everlasting on Friday, December 24, 2010. She was born in the Georgetown Community of Newton Company, Georgia. She attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia but left to marry her childhood sweetheart,Carmen Henderson. She later received a B.S. degree in Education from Oglethorpe University and taught in the Cobb County, GA school system for over 20 years. She loved God's Word, her family, music and gardening.

She is peceded in death by her loving husband Carmen and her son Phillip. She is survived by her sister, Marion Tanner of Mount Dora, FL; daughters, Peggy Hughes of Wetumpka, AL & Nancy Shaver of Atlanta, GA and her precious grandchildren, Jay Hughes, Burke Hughes, Kim Harrison and Amanda Gastineau and their families.

Her family would like to express their gratitude for the loving kindness of the staff of Angels for the Elderly, Montgomery,AL where our Mother was a resident for 6 years. She lived providing medleys of hymns, patriotic tunes and sentimental favorite on the piano before meals and for special programs. Graveside services will be Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at 2 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford, GA.
