Elected to the head of the school board association in the spring of 1951. Dr. Bell previously had served as vice president of the organization. In Richfield he served on the Sevier School District Board for two five-year terms, completing his first term as president and serving in the second term in the same capacity.
He was instrumental in convincing other civic leaders of the need for a school building program in Sevier County and his leadership contributed to the construction of new schools in Richfield, Monroe and Koosharem.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he filled a mission to the eastern states from 1921 to 1923. While there he was conference president in Baltimore, Md. He was member of the Richfield Fifth LDS Ward and took an active part in the planning and construction of the Richfield Second LDS Ward Chapel.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Jensen-Colby Post 45, American Legion.
He was born Nov. 22. 1896, at Milton, Tooele County, a son of Alfred and Eleanor Clark Bell. He attended South Sevier High School at Monroe where he graduated. He later graduated from the school of dentistry, Georgetown University, Washington, D. C.
After his graduation he returned to Richfield and began Practice in 1929.
On Feb. 10, 1921, he married Delphia Magleby in Layton, Utah. They were later divorced.
He married Pearl Jensen, Oct. 1, 1932. The marriage later was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Sept. 17, 1945.
Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Sally Bell, and three sons, Sammy and Stanley Bell, Richfield, and Billie Bell, Teasdale, Wayne County: three brothers. C. C. Bell, Monroe: J. W. Bell, Provo, and M. O. Bell, Salt Lake City: a sister, Mrs. George W. (Eleanor) Bjerregaard, Provo, and his father, Landing, Cal. Funeral arrangements wilt be announced by the Neal S.
