RIDGEVILLE--Henry H. Smiley, 87, passed away Wednesday at Randolph Nursing Home.

Henry was born in Seree, KY, to William Craven and Covey (Basham) Smiley. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945 as a Private 1st Class.

Mr. Smiley will be sadly missed for his infectious smile. Over the course of years, Henry worked for Marsh Warehouse in Yorktown, Dixon-DuHig car dealership in Muncie, Cowan Schools as a custodian, and as a carpenter with Benadum Construction. Henry loved to woodwork and has made over 30 clock cases and over 100 picture frames. He also loved children and enjoyed working at the school. Henry was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church in Muncie.

Henry is survived by a stepson, Leslie "Bud" Jester (wife-Dianne) of Muncie; a stepdaughter, Simone Joseph (husband-Claude) of Muncie; nieces, Norma Stephen (husband-Richard) of NC, and Linda Carol Holiday of KY; nephew, John Wheeler of KY; and special neighbors, Linda Harshman, Virginia Hiatt, Debbie Moyer, and Don and Rhonda Brown, all of Ridgeville.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; first spouse, Vinnie (LeMaster) Smiley; second spouse, Ethel Lucile (Bristow) Smiley; two brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, with the funeral following at 11 a.m.
