Daughter of John Parrott (of Wroot, England) and Margaret Rids Ake (of Ontario, Canada), she had 10 siblings, which she was the youngest of. She married LeRoy Albertus Ormsbee on 31 January 1906 in Gaylord, Michigan at the home of her brother, Abe Parrott. Leroy and her had 15 children and 1 adopted son. By the 1920s they were living in Koehler Township, Cheboygan County, Michigan raising their family while Farming. In April 1970 Susan dictated her family's history, events, and stories of raising their children in LeGrande Ranch (Afton, MI) to a younger family member that wrote it down, this became to be known as "The Book" passed along to family members to share in the wealth of history and their Matriarch's knowledge and wisdoms. They were Baptists that believed in God and the ways of God instead of the ways of "science" only giving in to "science" when medical situations were dire. She believed in the Power of Prayer, and the laying of Healing Hands for medical maladies. Her grandchildren that were old enough to meet her, all say only good things of her, that she had such a personality that one wanted to be physically close to her, that she gave off a warmth, positivity, and a golden glow.
