Mrs. Florene Lucille Klatt, 89, of McPherson, passed away at 9:35 p.m., Wednesday, June 15th, 2011 peacefully at McPherson Care Center, McPherson, Kansas.
Mrs. Klatt was born in Durham, Kansas on April 20, 1922, the daughter of Harry and Kathry (Becker) Schlehuber.
Florene attended and graduated from the Warren District #87 County School near Durham, Kansas.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church McPherson, Kansas. Florene was Baptized on May 5, 1922 at Durham Lutheran Church, Durham, Kansas and was Confirmed on July 10, 1955 at Grace Lutheran Church, McPherson, Kansas.
Florene was a homemaker and worked for Certain-Teed on the Assembly Line as an Attendant for 14 1/2 years.
Florene was a member of a Poka Dance group and was a former member of the V.F.W. Post 2715 Ladies Auxiliary, McPherson, Kansas. She was also a member of the Hutchinson Senior Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Florene Lucille Klatt was united in marriage to Earl Henry Klatt on June 27, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Canton, Kansas. Earl died on September 21, 1980.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Shirley Kay Reinhart and her husband Mickey of McPherson, Kansas and Loretta June Gorrell and her husband Mike of Salina, Kansas; four grandchidlren, Jason Reinhart of McPherson, Kansas, Justin Reinhart of McPherson, Kansas, Adam Gorrell of Tescott, Kansas, and Stacey Gorrell of Manhattan, Kansas; other relatives and a host of friends.
Florene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 step brothers, and 1 sister
Friends are invited to call on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.
Funeral service will be held at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18th, with The Reverend Jerry Leaf officiating.
