OBITUARY
Oral G. Finney, age 90 of Barryton, went home to be with her Lord early Friday morning, February 16, 2007. She was born November 19, 1916 in Jennings, MI to Elmer and Isabelle (Nutt) Gross. Oral graduated from Weidman High School in 1934 and later attended Central Michigan University. She married Ercil Williams on May 28, 1939 and from this union five beloved daughters were born. The family first settled in the Weidman Community and soon moved to Barryton where Oral lived her entire life. Oral and Ercil owned and operated the Barryton Dairy Bar for fourteen years, after which Oral pursued a career in food service at Ferris State University. In 1985 Ercil passed away. Oral married G. Mike Finney on July 22, 1990 at the Barryton Church of God where they were both members. Oral will be remembered as always having a strong love and devotion to her church and her community. She is survived by: Her husband: G. Mike Finney of Barryton Four daughters: Judy (Sherrill) Bongard of Eagle Jane (Dick) Duffey of Howard City Janice Thompson of Peoria, AZ Mary Jo (Mike) Suman of Holland 17 Grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Great-great-grandchildren. Step-daughters: Jean (Vern) Bitler of Barryton Sharon (Bill) Kruski of Alaska Son-in-law: Nolan Williams and his wife, Sandy of Grand Rapids Sister: Alma (Robert) Miller of DeWitt and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and first husband Ercil, Oral was preceded in death by a daughter; JoAnne Williams, Grandson; Rick Duffey, Son-in-law; Craig Thompson, sister; Lucille Branson and a brother; Melvin Gross. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19th at the Barryton Church of God with her daughter, the Reverend Jane Duffey officiating. Interment will be at Flake Cemetery in Barryton. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Barryton Church of God. Memorial Contributions in Oral's name may be given to the "Ercil and Oral Williams Scholarship Fund" in care of the Barryton Church of God.
