Leoneda ‘Bob' Estes, a resident of Carrollton Manor and formerly of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was 88. Mrs. Estes was born on July 26, 1921 in the Rock Mills Community of Randolph County, Alabama to the late William and Mattie Bailey Manley. She was retired from Sewell's Manufacturing in Bowdon where she worked as a seamstress and in the pressing and cleaning departments. She enjoyed gardening and would freeze and can vegetables that she raised and give them to her friends and family. A Baptist by faith, she was a devoted member of Sardis Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Albert Estes, and her 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law; two sons and daughter-in-law; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services held on January 2 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Darnell Teal and Rev. Roy Wysner officiate. Music provided by the church choir and Mrs. Tabbie Huff. Pallbearers are David Thompson, Bo Estes, Brian Estes, Mike Borders, Barry Harvell, Heath Eidson, Justin Rollins, and Jake Rollins. Interment in the church cemetery. Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, GA in charge of arrangements.
