U.S. Congressman. Successful in agricultural pursuits, he was a member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives, (1811-16) and served in the New Hampshire State Senate, (1816-23). In 1825, he was elected as a Jacksonian to the Nineteenth, Twentieth and Twenty-first Congresses, serving until 1831. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he again served in the State House of Representatives, (1831-34, 38-40) and later died in retirement on his farm.
