Ruthanna was born September 29, 1915, in York Co., the daughter of the late Crist and Katie (Seifert) Chronister.
She was a member of St. Paul's "Red Run" U.C.C. in East Berlin, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the United Church Women. She was also a member of the East Berlin Historical Preservation Society, the East Berlin High School Alumni Association, and volunteered at the East Berlin Community Center. Ruthanna loved spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking and baking.
Ruthanna is survived by a son, Charles B. Wallace II, and his wife, Judith, of East Berlin; a daughter, Suzanne I. Myers, and her husband, Ralph, of East Berlin; two grandchildren, Wendy K. McDowell and and her husband, William IV, of East Berlin, and Michael C. Myers and his wife, Karen of Newtown; four great-grandchildren, Madison McDowell, Carley McDowell, and Macey McDowell, all of East Berlin, and Aaron Myers of Newtown; and a brother-in-law, Clair Wagner of Wellsville.
A service to celebrate Ruthanna's life will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's "Red Run" U.C.C., 6623 Davidsburg Rd East Berlin, with Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
