Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie W. Gray, 75, who died at her residence in Waves Saturday morning [Nov. 7, 1953], were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Fairhaven Methodist Church by the Rev. P.M. Porter, pastor. Dewey Midgett, Creedon Midgett, Cecil Midgett and Woodrow Edwards served as pallbearers. Burial followed in the family cemetery at Waves.
Mrs. Gray was a native and lifelong resident of Waves, daughter of the late Israel B. and Nancy Ballance Midgett and wife of D.L. Gray.
She was a member of the Fairhaven Methodist Church and a member of the W.S.C.S.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Asa H. Gray of Waves; three sisters, Mrs. Lucretia Midgett of Waves, Miss Belle Midgett and Mrs. Lucy Midgett both of Manteo; one brother, Newcomb Midgett of Waves; one grandson and one great grandson.
