Robert H. Perry
Robert H. "Tossie" Perry, 69, of Fredericksburg left this earthly life and walked into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, after a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer.
Mr. Perry was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He had retired from the home-building industry in 2008. Mr. Perry loved baseball and played for over 30 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a dedicated Washington Redskins and Duke basketball fan.
Survivors include his wife, Emily A. Perry; daughters Lisa Perry and her companion, John Sutherland, and Jenna Nicole Perry, all of Stafford County; step-daughters Sherry Pfenninger and her husband, Jerry, of King George County, Emily Jean Skebeck and her husband, Lenny, of Spotsylvania County, and Pamela Williams and her husband, Michael, of Winchester; brothers Jack Perry of Fredericksburg and James Perry of Stafford; sisters Elizabeth Shackelford of Fredericksburg and Mary Dent of Stafford; stepgrandchildren Joseph Skebeck, Jacob Skebeck and his "little sunshine," Makayla Williams; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He also leaves his beloved dog, Cody. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Nellie Perry; his first wife, Dorothy Ann Perry; his son, Robert Wayne Perry; and seven siblings.
A funeral will be held at noon Monday, Feb. 14, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the Rev. Todd Pyle officiating.
Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Jack Perry, James Perry, Keith Perry, Ronnie Perry, Ricky Hairfield, Bryan Livesay and John Pape.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Medical Center, Box 4138, Fullerton, Calif. 92834, or to a favorite charity.
