David Matthew Trott, 86, died October 5,, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center, Lyons, Ks. He was born October 19th, 1921, at Lamar, Ks., the son of John Wineman and Maude Ethel (McPeek) Trott.

He was a resident of Lyons sine 2004, formerly of Buston. He was a retired United Methodist Church minister, and had attended Seminary. He was pastored Evangelical United Brethren at Mt. Liberty, Greenleaf, Meriden, Rock Creek, Bethany, Penalosa, Ionia, Odessa; pastor United Methodis Church at Sylvia, Huntsville, Fairview, Grainfield, Gove, Bushton, Lyons Ebenezer, Great Bend King Memorial, Albert, Pawnee Rock, Pleasant Hill, Hanover, Barnes, Coats, Lake City, and Glendale.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force during World War II.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Esther Beals, February 16, 1947 at Salina. She preceded him in death February 18, 1986. He was also preceded by sisters Elizabeth Fuller and Margaret Neaderhiser.

Survivors include two sisters, Esther Jean Gurley, Of Lawton, Okla., and Irene Viola, of Warren, Ohio, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the Ebenezar United Methodist Church, rural Lyons, Ks.. Burial was in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist church in care of Birzer Funeral Home.
