Norman C. Carpenter, 68, of 908 Parker Road, Toutle, died Nov. 17, 1980, in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1912 in Kelso.

He retired 7 years ago from the Department of Transportation, where he worked in maintenance.

Surviving are his wife, Blanche; two daughters, Denise Baxter and Judy Carpenter of Toutle; a son, Robert Carpenter of Castle Rock; three sisters, Helen Richards of Kelso, Ruth Musso of Ontario, OR, and Ina Kolker of Eugene; three brothers, Jack Carpenter of Portland, Floyd Carpenter of Kelso, and Roy Carpenter of Tacoma; and 6 grandchildren.

Services at 2 pm Sunday at 905 Parker Road, Castle Rock.
