Joshua Harrison Edwards is the husband of Elizabeth A. Bellomy, married 1866 in Erath County, Texas. To this union one son was born: William Washington Edwards in 1867. Elizabeth died in 1868.

Joshua enlisted in Company H, 10th Texas Infantry, September 1861. He received two gun shot wounds from a Winchester rifle, one through the top of the shoulder and joint, the other cut the collar bone in two and came out thru the joint of his shoulder.
At age 92, Joshua H. Edwards, died of "General Debility from old age" on November 16, 1933, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.M. Bowden at Stephenville, Erath County, Texas. His Mortuary Warrant was signed by his son, L.B. Edwards, on November 24, 1933.
