Samuel and Phebe Murphree moved to Hamilton County, Texas in 1875 with their orphaned Coker grandchildren and lived near where the Murphree Cemetery is now located.

Aletha Murphree married James Lafayette "Fate" Coker. Their orphaned children were:

i. Emily Elizabeth Coker Townsend (b. 6-25-1855 Banner, Calhoun Co, MS, d. 11-16-1934, Evant, TX)

ii. Charles Samuel Coker (b. 10-10-1857 Concord, Calhoun, Miss d. 11-26-1942, Nevada, Collin County, TX)

iii. Pernina Jane Coker Jones McNeill (b. 1-27-1860 Concord Calhoun Co, Miss d. 12-28-1932, Austin, TX)

iv. James Lafayette Coker (b. 9-13-1863 Concord, Calhoun Co, Miss d. 9-18-1877, Coffeeville, Yalobusha Co, MS)

Sardis Primitive Baptist Church was formed 10 June 1876, in the home of Samuel Minet and Phebe Matilda (Nations) Murphree

Samuel Murphree (7142368)
The latter was born in east Tennessee, October 4, 1813, and died January 17, 1884, at the age of seventy- one years, three months and thirteen days. In his infancy he moved with his parents to Alabama, where he lived until his marriage, in 1830, to Miss Phoebe Nations, after which he moved to Yalobusha County, Mississippi. He next went to Smith County, Texas, in 1866, where he lived until 1875, when he removed to Van Zandt County, and remained there until his death. Mr. Murphree was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and a good citizen. His wife died at the home of her son, J. P., in Hamilton County, Texas, at the age of seventy-four years.
