THE LAMPASAS LEADER - FRIDAY, JULY 6, 1900 - T.N. Bain

The subject of this sketch was born in Calloway county, Ky., Dec. 23, 1850. Moved with his parents to Carroll county, Tenn., when very small; lived there till 1864; moved to Graves county, Ky., during the winter of '64 where he lived till 1871 when he came here to Lampasas where he has lived since. He was married to Miss Josiphene Armstrong in 1865 by whom he had six children, all living but one. He was a nephew of O.H.P. Townsen; he left one brother, C. P. Bain, of Adamsville; two sisters, one Miss Eliza Bain, of Lampasas, and Mrs. Joe Straley, also of Adamsville. He professed a hope in Christ in 1887; joined the C.P. church the same year, living in it until his death. He had been confined to his bed only a few days, therefore his death was a shock to all who loved him. He appeared to perfectly reconciled to death, talking as cheerful about it as though going on a pleasure or business trip. Said he thought he was leaving things in a shape that his wife could go on and make a iving for herself and children. It is hard, oh, so hard to give up one so dear to us. Still, thank God, we know we will meet him again. God comfort the stricken wife and and children is the prayer of one who deeply sympathizes with them in their sorrow. He was a kind and loving husband, an indulgent father, and an obliging neighbor, the Father in whose care he left his family saw fit to call him home, and we know He doeth all things well. So grieve not, dear ones, but prepare to meet him beyond the pearly gates where parting is no more.

ONE WHO LOVED HIM.
