Stone mason, born 1835, in New Boston, New Hampshire, he enlisted in the civil war 14 August 1862 with the rank of Sergeant in the New Hampshire 11th Infantry Company C. He received a disability discharge 09 May 1865 in Manchester New Hampshire, he also lived in Londonderry, NH, brother to lot owner John J Bennett.

Sargeant Bennett was also at one time the Commander of the GAR Louis Bell Post #3. His photo is from Willeys Semi Centennial in Manchester, NH

Father of MoodyBell S. Bennett, Attorney at Law, who applied for membership as the son of a civil war soldier, under the name of Steven Bennett.
