Clyde Lowry, 79, Humboldt, Kansas, died this morning at the Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute, Kansas, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Lowry was born October 11, 1893, at Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of Delbert V. & Amanda Ellen (Baker) Lowry.

He came to Humboldt from Mountain Grove, Missouri, in 1923.

He was a retired locomotive engineer, having been employed by the Monarch Cement Company.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion and Wold War I Veterans.

He was married to Edith Ellis on May 18, 1927, in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Survivors include his widow of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Marrian Crowl, of Paola, KS; two brothers, Capp Lowry and C.I. Lowry, both of Humboldt, KS; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A son, Delbert; and a brother, Dallas; preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Thursday at the Humboldt United Methodist Church. The Rev LeRoy Foreman will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Humboldt, Kansas. The Price Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
